Standing outside of Lockeys Farm on Downhill Lane about 1889. These restored buildings are on the left heading towards Nissan before the A19.(Red pantile roofs). In the photograph is James Lockey, his family and the farmworkers. The workers cottages in the picture date back to around 1750.
Black Horse Inn ahead,which was built in 1700. The Wheatsheaf Hotel is on the left.This picture of West Boldon, was taken in 1902.
