The 28th South Shields (4th East Boldon) Scout Group, which
locally is known as ‘East Boldon Scout Group', has been operating in East
Boldon since 1941. Over the last 8 years it has grown substantially. The group
now currently has about 140 young people with ages ranging from 6 to 17.
The group provides activities including: social development, team building,
fitness promotion, residential experiences and the chance for young people to
take an active part in the running of the group, in their local community and
become responsible and participating citizens. The group is also the local
registered Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme provider. Other community groups
and organisations within the Village also use the Scout Hall.
