Pickings have introduced a new standard of "specially selected" Orkney Beef and Lamb, and Home cured mild sweetcure bacon.

In 1996 they were champion of champions winner, Northern Region Sausage Champion and outright winner of the Annual Competition in all three categories. 1st Pork, 1st Beef, 1st and 2nd Speciality.  They also hold three national awards for excellence in low fat products.

Pickings is famous in the area for its fine sausage of which they have a large range available.

Specialist sausages can be make to oder (minimum five 3kg )
