West Boldon Residents Association have entered West Boldon into the Northumbria in Bloom Competition 2010
Basket Planting Event
On May 30th Association members held their basket planting morning near the Post Office. Despite the weather this well attended event was, as expected, a wonderful successful morning.
Residents finish off the last few baskets ready to display ready for the Judges of Northumbria in Blooms second visit to the village.
Residents take the time out for a quick photograph on the Saturday lunchtime having completed a busy morning making baskets for the Village.
Brownies make up recycled oak tubs for the Church
On 19th May our local Brownie group planted two planters in St Nicholas Church. They learnt about where the reclaimed tubs came from as well as colour co-ordination and design. The oak tubs and plants were supplied locally from nearby Tubs and Shrubs Nursery.
The best bit - filling the tubs up with compost.
"These adults can learn a thing or two from us - who needs a trowel?"
Didnt they do well said Brucie.
A wonderful job done by these young experts - Well done.
Rectory Bank tidied up.
